INVITATION
The 37th International Conference and Annual General Meeting of the “Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology” (NIFST), is scheduled to hold at the NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja, on 21st-25th October 2013.
The theme of this year's conference is tagged “Food Safety: Critical Pathway to Sustainable Global Competitiveness and Public Health”.
The President of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology” (NIFST), Professor Lateef Sanni and the Local Organising Committee of the conference are pleased to invite stakeholders from public and private sectors, NGOs, agro-allied industries, the academia, research institutes, students, Nigerians in the Diaspora, and all practitioners of Food Science and Technology to meet at the NICON luxury Hotel, Abuja to discuss issues bordering on Food Safety which has been identified as a critical pathway to sustainable global competitiveness and public health.
We invite you to a very rewarding and fulfilling outing with life-time memories of this great event as you join us at the Federal Capital City.
REGISTRATION
All participants are encouraged to register in advance by email at “nifstconference2013@gmail.com' using the registration form provided. The last date for early registration is 31st August, 2013. Please send a scanned copy of the teller and duly completed registration form to the email address. Cancellation of advance registration will only be honoured latest one month before the conference date with refund less 20% for handling charges.
Participants can also register during the Conference. Please note that complete registration for NIFST members includes the payment of membership dues and subscription.

The extended abstracts should follow the under-listed format
1. Two page space limitation (A4)
2. Microsoft Office Word (Windows 97-2003 or compatible format)
3. 1-inch margin
4. Times new Roman (font size 12)
5. Single line spaced
6. Maximum of one table/figure
Deadline for submission of abstract: 15th August 2013.
All abstract must be submitted together with scanned copy of teller confirming the payment of N1,000.00 processing fees. No abstract will be processed without the receipt of a scanned teller.
All authors of accepted papers/presentations will receive acceptance letters as and when submissions are made and latest by 31st August, 2013.
All authors of accepted paper(s)/presentations are required to pre-register for the conference on or before 31st August 2013, to ensure publication in the book of abstracts (See Registration).
NB: Abstracts will not be published in the Book of Abstracts unless conference registration fee is paid on or before 31st August, 2013.
All oral presentations during the conference are expected to be in power point.
Authors are encouraged to submit conference papers to NIFOJ for subsequent peer review and publication.
